The Risk of Heartworm Disease

Picture
Spring has finally arrived!  With temperatures rising and flowers blooming, though, the bugs are once again plentiful here in North Texas.  Among these critters, mosquitoes pose a significant danger to us and our pets.  They can already be seen buzzing throughout the skies, so be sure you know how to deter them for the season to come, and why they are often the culprits for some of the worst diseases in us and our pets.

For heartworm prevention, please visit or call our office, and our staff will be glad to assist you with finding the right product for your pet.  Heartworm prevention is a prescription product that costs as little as $4 to $5 a month to administer.  This small investment throughout the lifetime of your pet can mean the difference, though, between never having your pet infected or having to pay hundreds of dollars for several months of heartworm disease treatment.

Please be aware that because heartworm prevention is a prescription product, your pet must be a current patient in our clinic, must have been examined within the last year by our doctor(s), and must have been tested for heartworms with a negative result within the last year.
