Parasite Prevention Month
The spring season is upon us, and the bugs are enjoying it just as much as we are. You can do a lot, though, to protect your pets, your home, and yourselves and keep those tiny critters at bay.
So, eat up the information presented below, worm your way to the different links, and crawl into our clinic for further assistance. Keep your pets healthy this year, and the only thing they'll be itching for will be a few treats and a nice belly rub!

Please do not neglect the seriousness of heartworm disease in pets. Transmitted simply by the bite of an infected mosquito, heartworms are very easy to prevent with monthly medications.
For more information on this potentially fatal disease, visit the American Heartworm Society.
Only the tip of the iceberg....
Stop fleas from invading your home by using the appropriate preventive products.
If you are already experiencing a flea infestation, however, consider the pyramid to the left. The adult flea itself is unfortunately only the "tip of the iceberg" when dealing with flea populations. Even if you seem to have eradicated the adult fleas and they are no longer in sight, it does not mean that the problem is under control just yet. Countless numbers of flea eggs may still be present in your pet's environment, so please be thorough with your cleaning efforts. Be sure to vacuum your home frequently, wash your pet's bedding completely, and safely use insecticides both indoors and outdoors, if needed.
